It's been a long time since I woke up early on an off day to indulge in makan makan. This time the "gow chiak" gang explored to place none of the gang has been...a dim sum shop located in Anson Road (after the traffic lights at Ghee Hiang) and in between EON showroom and Leong Gay Furniture Shop.
Pak Lay Sin has a good dim sum spread. They have fried dim sum, steamed dim sum, paus (dumplings), chee cheong fun, pee tan chok (century egg porridge) and also a seperate order for many types of noodles. They even have too khar chor (pig trotters in black vinegar - which is mediocre - not sour enough).
Since there were nine of us, we get to order many things...some are worth mentioning...especially the tua pau (big dumpling). The pau dough is not thick and the filling is more than you ask for. The is also a slice of lap cheong (chinese sausage) in it. I am getting a hook on this. I enjoy the lam joo pau that has a thick slice of fats in it. Yummy!!! Bad for health, but no good food is good!!!
It's quite an interesting morning, chit chatted about "minmoniger" (whatever that is!!!) over dim sum and tea.
The only thing that does not appeal to me is, if you park in the Pak Lay Sin carpark, which is next to it, you still have to pay RM1.00.
