Bless Mei Mei's soul, she introduced me to this restaurant for dinner in The Curve. It's Mache!!! As it was almost breakfasting hour, the restaurant was sardine packed (as a matter of fact, all the F&B outlets were like jamming with people, yes, even Secret Recipe!!!). Usually Mache serves ala carte orders, but for the month of Ramahdan, they serve buffet...which is even more to my favour as I get to try everything!!!
The setting was huge...a vast place for such restaurant with the concept of a fruit market. We were told there was no tables left when we first approached the waitress in the front entrance. After a few minutes, with our tummies growling and my insistent of having a nice buffet dinner, we walked back to the restaurant. This time, we are told that there is a table available...either the waitress was amazed with our persistence or she heard the sound our tummies were making!!!
After we were shown to our table, there was no stopping me...I was running amok!!! There were the salad bar...Caesar salads, garden salads and many kinds of dressings. Then there's another counter grilling sausages. The lamb sausage is simply lips smacking!!! Next to that counter, they have soup (on that day were chicken soup and thick mushroom soup) and stirfried German noodles (that look like white worms and tasted like pasta in cabonara sauce).
Opposite these counters, they have all kinds of bread - long ones, short ones, rounds, flats, squares, white, buns, croissants, bagels, loaves, rolls, you name it, they have it!!! Mak Sui Kin would go bonkers!!! Then the desserts...ice-cream, cakes, local kuehs and one of my favourites...Pengat Pisang!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! It has so much bananas that made be go bananas!!! It's lemak enough and got sago!!!!!!!!! There is another one, that looks and tastes like "kueh ee" but cook in santan too!!! They are really good lah!!!
Then there was counter that serves more local Asian dishes, which I did not bother to check it out, but I saw rice...but the next was the best of the lot...BARBEQUE and ROAST...from chicken (fantastically juicy), lamb, beef chunks. Got mint sauce, mushroom brown sauce, BBQ sauce, hot & spicy sauce....who could asked for anything more!!! Roast in BBQ sauce!!!
There is a counter grilling seafood...grilled salmon, grilled prawns...then a stall "selling" drinks...yes, you have to pay seperately for the drinks. To save cost, we forgo that stall. Hehehe!!! I would not want to pay RM5.50 for 1 can of Coke!!! Then there is a small table serving Italian Pizza, available in a few toppings.
I wanted to take some pictures of the stalls and settings of the restaurants, but taking pictures of the food we took, already turned many eyes from the tables surrounding us to our table!!!
So anyone going to The Curve before the 26th September 2008, do let me know...who knows, I may want to go for a second!!!
