...moonlight festival concert...

Love is all around...come this September 11th, there will be a Moonlight Festival Concert in aid of Mount Miriam Hospital IGRT fund in conjuction with the festival of the moon.

The one night only concert is put together by Marlene Fox derived from the idea of Cheng Hin, both have been very , very active in Penang's music scene. Many performing groups have come together to put on this show to help Mount Miriam Hospital, a not for profit cancer centre, purchase the new IGRT (Image Guided Radiotherapy) machine that will replace their existing sixteen year old linear accelerator.

The fun-filled night promises a lot of classical music (both in Chinese and English) performed by the Georgetown Singers, Fingerprints Chamber Choir, Mayson Music Station, Hui Yin Seah Chinese Orchestra, Members of the PESSBAND, Green Apple Ballet Academy, Wildcat Dancers and Members of the Penang Players. The will also be a performance by the renowned pianist - Ms Catherine Lee. The will also be a musical exceprts from William Shakespear's "Midsummer Night's Dream" which is directed by Ian Kerr.
The tickets are priced at RM80, RM50, RM 30 and RM20 (for students above 6 years old and senior citizens).
Public can also sponsor the concert by placing an advertisement in the night's souvenir programme book. RM10,000 full page coloured ad with 2 RM80 tickets, RM5,000 half page coloured ad with 2 RM50 tickets and RM2,500 quarter page coloured ad with 2 RM30 tickets). Any amount less than RM2,500 and above RM500, will also be listed in souvenir programme book. For further enquiries, do call Mount Miriam Hospital for information or contact me lah...

Today marked the launching of the concert. There was a press conference and after the introduction of the IGRT machine by CEO Tan and Dr "Bollywood" Rakesh and about the concert by Marlene, Swan Le Blanc came out flapping her angel wings, carrying the poster to be presented to the two wise men and one wise lady on stage...then, as usual, group photo of the who's who of the hospital and the concert.
So come and enjoy a night of colour and lovely music and donate for a good cause at the same time...
